How did I receive my initial attunements up to Reiki Master level and how does distant healing work

This vital living energy force (some call it God, Buddha, Love or similar) comes in different manifestations - one of those being the frequencies in which Reiki was born. Living or dead everything generates a frequency. The Reiki Master teacher attunes the recipient into the Reiki healing frequencies (Its like finely tuning into your favourite radio station). The Reiki Master can then lock these frequencies into your aura by means of using the Secret Reiki symbols, re-discovered by Dr Mikao Usui back in March 1922. It is these symbols which have been closely guarded with some teachers still charging up to 10,000 dollars (the usual price to train to be a Master until around 10 years ago). For all this to work the initiate client does not need to be physically in the presence of the Reiki Master. Attunements can be given easily via Distant Transmission. I fully explain this later on.

Do you ever get tired or run down from giving Reiki treatments

The Reiki practitioner's energies are not The practitioner is channelling Universal Life Force Energy - the Note as the Reiki practitioner channels healing energy, he she receives the benefits as well Giving a Reiki treatment boosts the practitioner's energy level and opens the door to feelings of love and contentment

Can Reiki be used with other therapies

Reiki can be successfully combined with other therapies - it is completely safe and activates natural healing energy within us. It will enhance the effects of other complementary healing arts such as massage, acupuncture, shiatsu, reflexology, aromatherapy, chiropractic, colour therapy, homeopathy and many others. Many practitioners of other healing methods have reported positive developments in their work since learning Reiki.

Reiki The Initiation Attunement process read first

The Reiki initiations attunement process enables the recipient to permanently open and connect to the Universal Reiki healing energies on all levels (mental, physical, emotional and psychically) and also clears and balances many important energy channels within the body Reiki has three formal levels of initiation - training and practice of each enhances growth and mastery of Reiki. Attunements are given by a Reiki Master. The Reiki attunements are always a special spiritual experience for the receiver and can cause similar feelings for the Master. I'll mention this here again as there is controversy within the Reiki community as to the length of time between Reiki initiations. A number of practitioners believe that there should be a significant period of time between levels. Some suggest Reiki I and Reiki II, twenty-one days apart - and a year between Reiki II and Reiki III ( master teacher ). Other teachers allow students to take Reiki I & II & III within a few days and some combine...

The Reiki 1st Degree initiation the secret process

Within each initiation sequence there will be a series of Reiki symbols. You must sign (visually draw with one hand) the Reiki symbols or repeat the symbol name. The sequences together form the secret keys that align the student with the Reiki energy at each level. The process sequence usually refers to you giving the initiations to someone else. But, you can give yourself the re-attunements ( stand in front of a mirror and perform the same actions to yourself, this would usually be to Master the Initiation sequencers before Initiating others This would apply to all Reiki andSeichim Initiation levels). Reiki - 2nd Degree Initiation - (Okuden) Overview The second degree of Reiki will allow your healing ability and intuition be greatly expanded. It will also allow you to perform distant healing - plus gives access to more powerful Reiki healing symbols. Usually, an initiate would be given the second degree after time spent practising Reiki at the first degree. But again, as previously detailed, the time factor is not important. After the attunements you will probably feel more balanced and start feeling warmth throughout the body. This is a by product of lining up with the Reiki frequencies. You can practice sending Distant healing energies to your friends relatives - even animals. At this level you also receive the symbols SEI-HE-KI, CHO-KU-REI and HON-SHA-ZE-SHO-NEN (see the supplementary pages after the Second...

Seichim Master Degree Initiation Overview

The Seichim Master degree complements Reiki and comes from the Egyptian word Sekhem (also know as SKHM, Seichim andSeichem). Reiki master Patrick Zeigler discovered Seichim. Seichim is channelled Living Light Energy from the Source. It is actually just another aspect vibration of the One source, just like Reiki is. The symbols for this powerful energy are actually found carved etched on the sides of the Great Egyptian pyramids and also within some of the tombs. There are many references made to SEKHEM in numerous scrolls found in the pyramids and ancient ruins of the temples. The actual word SEKHEM means Power or Might and it also has a close connection to the Goddess Sekmet Seichim is a beautiful way of accessing the energy of the Great Mother earth and a path to deeper self-realisation empowerment. It balances and re-aligns the yin-female aspect of our beings on all levels (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual). Seichim is a healing system not unlike Reiki. It is energy, drawn...

The Seichim Level 1 and Master Degree initiation the secret process

The following pages detail exactly the Seichim Level 1 and Master initiations. These attunements are usually only transferred to existing Reiki Masters. Training in Seichim should only be given for those who have already attained Reiki Master level. You will be asked to sign (visually draw with one hand) a Seichim Reiki symbol or repeat the symbol name. The sequences together form the secret keys that align the student with the Seichim energy at this level. When you feel comfortable perform the sequence(s) for the Seichim level 1 and Master level attunements. After this Initiation the initiate has been successfully attuned into the Master Degree of Seichim. Apendix A Reiki Hand Positions A typical session Reiki Session

A typical Reiki session may last between 30-60 minutes. All Clients should be treated fully clothed either sitting up or lying down, depending which is most comfortable for them. During a typical session, Reiki will heal on all levels. The energy gets directed to all major organs & glands , body joints and chakras for a fully body energy workout

How often should the Client receive Reiki

The body only absorbs the healing energy it needs. You cannot receive too much Reiki energy. There actually is no limit to the number of Reiki sessions required or the duration of each one. This is left to the discretion of the Master - based on findings during the initial healing session. Usually a general fortnightly healing session will suffice. Reiki and the basic Intent

Reiki is amazingly simply to give to anyone. Once a person is attuned to the Reiki energy, all that is then required for the flow is the intent . The Reiki healer places his her hands on themselves or the client and says the word REIKI with the Intent of performing a Reiki Healing- the symbols are not a necessity.

Reiki client not presentDistant Healing

Reiki symbols reminder (see above for the diagrams.) Distant healing can be done in a variety of ways. As with hands on Reiki, intent is very important. The practitioner can use a proxy, visualization or a projection of Reiki energy (also known as beaming) or a combination of the three. You can (if it helps) visualize the person you are sending Reiki energy to, shrunk to a miniature size and situated between your hands. Sending Reiki is as effortless as anything else you do with Reiki. After a while you probably won't need to imagine the person between your hands. Sit quietly and think of the name of the person you are sending Reiki to - do this for 10-20 minutes. Focus on the intent of sending Reiki to that person. (It's more in-line with the Reiki Master and Seichim Manual - Version 1.1 - Copyright 2002-2003, reiki-ebook.com All rights reserved. 57 ethics of Reiki to first obtain the permission of the person you are sending the energy to). Reiki client presentSelf Healing

The Reiki practitioner would initially ask the client for his blessings permission before the commencement of the Reiki session, as Reiki will not override a person's free will. With the simple act of placing the hands on oneself or on another person the Reiki energy automatically flows The Reiki treatment is a very simple, non-intrusive process. The Reiki treatment encourages physical, mental and emotional healing and spiritual growth. The Reiki hands-on treatment session is usually done with your client (or yourself) comfortably lying down, on your treatment couch (you can also have your client sitting on a chair if they so wish as long as they feel comfortable ). The practitioner would then channel the Reiki energy through the hands to the recipient's head, front of the body, back, knees and feet. This enables the energy to flow right to the source of the problem and not just the manifesting symptoms. Reiki works goes to where ever the recipient needs it most and Reiki can relieve...

Reiki Protection Is it required

You may have heard about other Energy healing methods that require protective meditation or preparation before working with energy on the client. Some NON-Reiki healers have mentioned they themselves initially take on the ailments of the clients (headaches, aches and pain, feeling tired etc ) and cannot then give healings until they feel better again. There is a Reason for this With Reiki, the above never occurs as Reiki energy heals every time. You have been attuned and connected to The Divine Universal and the energy is always properly earthed released without any participation from you. The Clients ailments are not deemed a result of Negative energy - rather energy released as a headache, back pain or similar. It's the end result of issues blockages within their own energy chakra system (the cause of all ailments - see the appendices for more info). Reiki uses you as a facilitator to transfer healing energies to the Client. It knows how to earth any energies that may be hindering...

In both the second and Master level of Reiki you will have access to the Special sacred Reiki symbols and words that are handed down from Master to Master. It is beneficial to learn., within the first month, all the Japanese symbol names - this will allow for familiarity as regards other Reiki material texts. As with Reiki there are many other symbols that have evolved and the following are some more symbols that can be used with your Seichim or Reiki Seichim session. The main thing is to Master the relevant symbols you need otherwise you may get too over whelmed by them all

Appendix Q Reiki and the Chakra Aura layers

This Mastery can really complement your Reiki Healings as you may be able to see the imbalance of your clients Chakra aura layers that are potentially the reason why they have visited you in the first place, also after your session you can see whether the Chakra aura layers have changed. If you do find some in-balance in your client using the above techniques (once mastered) then simply Channel focused Reiki into that specific area. For emotional type blockages the release can be very fast indeed, again with Reiki it's all about channeling energy to remove blockages and ensure the smooth and unrestricted flow of Ki Force throughout the body. Reiki advanced treatment using Harmonics

Aikido Exercise Diagram

There is a web site on the Internet that is taking the healing community by storm, by using simply techniques they are claiming to remove many energy blockages from the healee, which are the root cause of diseases. The actual Harmonic techniques are quick and easily mastered and can completely complement your Reiki healing session for your clients. Once you know the basics, you could with the Clients permission, perform an initial couple of minutes of Harmonics on them, before a Reiki healing. These two healing sessions combined would greatly enhance the overall healing your client would receive. The Hidden Healing Qigong Methods From the Baguazhang Postures

Each of the major postures from Bagua have a hidden meaning, either for the healing benefits or for gaining of power for the fa-jing and fighting system. And the hidden meanings are hidden in the very names of each posture. This information was only ever given out to very advanced students after they became proficient in the fighting side of the art as when once was proficient in self defense, one could then understand about the healing and Qigong side. By knowing the names of each posture, we are able to find the hidden way to perform each posture as well as to find the hidden healing meaning or Qigong to gain power etc. For instance, the posture called 'Leaning On the Horse & Ask The Way' works upon the energy system of the body which is stored in the backbone. When we 'Lean On The Horse', we lean on his backbone, and as the backbone is so easily seen in a horse, this gives us a hidden meaning of this posture. The way to real power in Baguazhang is to access the combined power of...

Appendix C Reiki Chakra healing Balls

3) Start to feel the Reiki energy coming out of the palms and create a ball of the energy with your hands. Now actually start to move you hands as if you were using this energy to actually make a spherical ball of energy. 4) When you feel the ball has all the necessary Reiki charge then place this ball of energy into the clients root chakra and actually sense it's placement and see the clients chakra (in your minds eye) glowing the relevant colour. 5) Now channel some Reiki into that Chakra for say just one minute. After that carry on with your normal Reiki session etc. This can also be used in distant healing imaging the person is sat laying in front of you. The Healing Benefits Of Baguazhang

The great benefits to health are not as well documented, as for the mother art of 'T'ai chi ch' uan but none the less, Bagua does have great benefits. If we look at the documented ages of many of the Bagua masters we have a fairly good indication of the healing benefits of the art. All of the internal systems of martial art all work in the same way where healing is concerned. They all work upon the acupuncture meridians sending life giving Qi or life force to all of the internal organs. This Qi is a sort of electrical energy which literally holds our very cells together. Qi is said to be used in the healing arts as well as in the martial arts but beware For as long as the martial arts have existed, man has been claiming supernatural feats in the name of Qi, things that defy the laws of nature. Like being able to catch a raindrop and hold it intact Or being able to ward off a spear attack to the neck. All of these 'games' are purely circus tricks and should not be taken seriously.

Hospital Treatment and Qigong Healing

Let us talk about the relationship between hospital treatment and qigong healing. Most doctors of Western medicine do not recognize qigong. Their view is, why would we need hospitals if qigong can heal illnesses You can substitute for our hospitals Would it not be nice if your qigong could replace hospitals and treat patients single-handedly without resorting to injections, medicine, hospitalization Such an opinion is neither reasonable nor rational. Some people do not know about qigong. In truth, qigong healing is not like the conventional treatments of ordinary people. It is not an ordinary person's skill, but something supernormal. How could it be allowed to disturb ordinary human society on a great scale with something supernormal How powerful a Buddha is, and he overdose of medicine could be poisonous. Today's level of medical treatment is the same as that of science and technology. They are all on the level of ordinary people. Hence such an effect of treatment. One issue that...

Healing Others with Highly Developed Qi

The importance of self-healing in healing others People in the West have a tendency to home in on the techniques and to gloss over the importance of the energy, the Qi, which is the essential element in the process. Healers are constantly giving their Qi to others during the healing process, and so they must constantly recharge their own Qi through Qigong practice. If you are attempting to heal others, and are not yourself healthy through practising the movements and meditation of Qigong, you will transmit negative rather than positive Qi -which must, of course, be avoided. If, for example, your patient had a back problem and after treatment finds their heart beating faster, you could well have passed a heart problem of your own on to the patient.

On the Issue of Healing Illnesses ipi5

When talking about healing illnesses, I am not teaching you how to cure diseases. All the genuine disciples of Falun Dafa should not treat patients. As soon as you do it, all the materials of Falun Dafa planted into your body will be taken back by my Law body. Why is this issue taken so Of course, this form of qigong healing may be allowed to exist in the future. It has existed in the past. However, there must be a condition. The person must be a cultivator. Out of his compassion in the course of his cultivation, he will be allowed to treat a few good people. But he cannot completely eliminate the patient's karma because he has not enough mighty virtues. Therefore, the tribulation still exists but the specific illness has gone. An ordinary little qigong master is not a cultivator who has achieved the Tao. He can only put off the illness or may transform it into other forms of misfortune. However, he himself may not know the putting-off process. If his cultivation system cultivates the...

Reiki Which one

There are several Reiki styles techniques being taught through the world such as (Usui Reiki, Reiki,Tibetan, Reiki,Shamballa, Reiki,Sacred Path Reiki, Ascension Reiki, Tera Mai Reiki, Seichem, Karuna Reiki, Karuna Ki, Seichim 7 Facet, Extended Seichim Reiki, Isis Seichim, Traditional Japanese Reiki, Raku Kei Reiki, Atlantis Healing System etc ). Each one of these uses a different method to focus and attract the Reiki healing energy. Each style of Reiki has slightly different techniques and symbols. The problem is, many of the Reiki styles are now different distorted from the original developed by (Usui Shiki Ryoho). I have stayed with the Original teachings (Usui) and attune people to these. I feel the different styles of Reiki are alterations made by individuals and therefore I prefer to stay with the Original (Usui Shiki Ryoho). Reiki II

At this level the initiate is again attuned in order to establish a better connection with energies that heal mental and emotional issues and that can travel across any distance and time period (deemed Distant healing). You will also receive and learn about three Reiki symbols ( The Power Symbol , The Mental Symbol and The Distance Symbol ). These symbols can then be used to help focus energy for specific purposes. There is only one attunement at this level. You must have previously been attuned to Reiki I before receiving this stage.

Reiki IIIMaster

When the initiate is attuned into this level all the Reiki energy is unlocked and complete Mastery can be achieved. The initiate learns about two more symbols ( Master symbol and Balancing symbol ) will be able to perform Reiki attunements for others. There is only one attunement at this level. You must have previously been attuned to Reiki I & II before receiving this stage. The Reiki Master attunement strengthens and increases your healing and psychic abilities. Reiki Master and Seichim Manual - Version 1.1 - Copyright 2002-2003, reiki-ebook.com All rights reserved. Reiki - 1st Degree Initiation - (Shoden) Overview In Western society, many students initiates are taught to separate out - by a period of time (days weeks or months) - the initiations into the different Reiki levels. However, this need not be the case. Reiki is a Divine, universal energy that builds upon previous initiations and cements them together, making them stronger. Students can be initiated within one day. Only...

Alleviating depression

Further energy can be wasted through bad posture when sleeping. If your body is in the wrong position some of the channels or veins will be blocked, causing poor circulation. Your dreams may become very strange and even nightmarish. When you wake up in the middle of the night you might find that your hands are on your chest, putting pressure on your heart, or maybe that you have been sleeping on your side in a posture that compressed the lungs, causing a breathing problem. So some sleeping positions cause problems for your energy flow, and the following day you will feel tired and stiff in your neck, back or shoulders. Your energy will always go to any part of the body that is blocked or suppressed, to try to bring it back to normal. The best sleeping posture is lying on your back with a pillow to support your head, legs slightly apart and arms loosely by your side, i.e. a similar position to that used in lying meditation.

Can I attune myself again if so what happens

Re-attunement is connecting back to the divine intelligence and asking for the frequencies to be re-attuned onto yourself. It adds to and improves your connection to the Reiki energies. You don't need to re-attune your self to any levels as uou are already a Master of Reiki and Seichim but it is OK to say re-attune your self to Reiki Level I again to experience Master the Initiation stages as you may want to practise before training others into Reiki. Again all it does is enhance and clarify the Reiki energies you receive, you don't loose your Master level initiations, regardless of what re-attunements you are doing, as they are there for Life

Inner and Outer Strength

There are two kinds of strength, just as there are Yin and Yang. The outer, physical strength is obvious, fades with age, and is dissipated by excess. The inner strength is by far the more powerful of the two, but it must be developed through constant practice and study. The Qi (also Chi, pronounced chee and Ki in Japanese) is the life-force of the Universe, which flows within and through and around all things. It can be collected, cultivated, and circulated within the body to perform the will. But, not one in ten thousand will ever know the true Qi. This, like many transcendental subjects, cannot be adequately described in word or print. But, it can be experienced. The practice is known as Kuji Kiri, the Nine Cuts. The key to the Mind Gate.

When you are giving someone a treatment what are you feeling How do you know the energy is flowing

On certain parts of a client's body, the hands can be extremely hot However, it is important to note that the sensations can vary from treatment to treatment - the energy felt by the practitioner can be very different in nature to that felt by the Client. For example, the practitioner experiences his hands cold and the Client feels intense heat. After a period of time on one body position, the Reiki switches off. It switches on again when the hands are moved elsewhere. When one area is 'fixed', you move on to the next.

The Western style versions of the Principles Affirmations have adopted the following format

Reiki Master and Seichim Manual - Version 1.1 - Copyright 2002-2003, reiki-ebook.com All rights reserved. Using REIKI Even though, whilst healing a client, you yourself receive Reiki energies, it is also suggested to perform Self-healing on a regular basis - preferably daily (see the Appendix for multiple healing balancing techniques and tools). Self-healing will re-balance and centre your mind-body-spirit connection, and more importantly, will free up the energy pathways allowing you to channel a stronger flow of Reiki energy when healing others. It's also important to remember that while Reiki is spiritual in its nature, it's not a religion of any sort. There's nothing you have to believe in to make it work or to use it. It will work regardless of whether you believe in it or not, that's the beauty of Reiki. Remember, you simply cannot do anything wrong with Reiki because it's a completely natural source energy from the divine and can never be used for harm in any way. Reiki Master...

The Internal Training Methodology

The Internal martial arts place their main emphasis on training the internal factors of a person as a means of preparing the body to be effective in combat. The three internal elements trained are Jing (essence), Qi (vital energy - akin to life force) and Shen (spirit). The body needs to be strengthened and healthy before it can engage in combat. The internal methods train the body for the improved generation of Jing (essence) through keeping the body at the optimum stress level for its healthy functioning which means also the removal or dealing with destructive stress. This returns the body to its natural relaxed state which encourages the proper smooth circulation. This forms the basis for a regulated and healthy endocrine system which leads to the improved generation of Jing. This in turn leads to the improved output of Qi which is a result of the improved metabolism through the abundance of Jing. Qi is derived from the nutrients we eat and the air that we breath. Qi itself flows...

Hold the torso straight and the backoune and free end of the sacrum vertical. When moving, always keep the chest slightly inward and the back upright. The beginners should keep these key points in mind, otherwise their movements will become mere formality or dull-looking, and they will not be able to make much progress in spite of long years of practice. 3. Relax the joints of both arms, letting the shoulders droop and the elbows curve naturally the palms should be slightly extended and the fingers slightly bent. Move the arms by conciousness and send qi (breath or vital energy) to the fingers. Remember these key points and success will be yours. 5. The action of the feet is divided into kicking upward and kicking downward. When you kick upward, pay attention to your toes, and when you kick downward, pay attention to the sole conciousness of the action will be followed by vital energy, and vital energy will be followed by strength. When you do all this, you should relax the joints and...

Buddhism The Middle Path

The Brahmana believed that the Brahman was the origin of the universe and of mankind. Spiritually, mankind had similar characteristics to the Mahabrahmanas, that was, a permanent, free, and happy I or ego. This was the nature of human life. This spiritual I of mankind was the same spirit as that in which adherents of the popular religions believed. The spirit had a close relationship with the god.

The cultivation of human energy is one of the great achievements of the world's oldest surviving civilization. In the legacy of Chinese culture, the human being is understood to be a field of energy. Natural scientists and medical specialists have worked over the centuries to determine how best to sustain, replenish and enhance this vital energy, known as Chi. energy work involving almost no external move- fjj No matter what level of accomplishment you reach, the energy work in this book will start to generate enhanced inner strength. With careful practice you will be able to use and direct that power in all aspects of your daily life.

Enhanced Senses Sense

The concept of ch'i (or ki in Japanese) pervades many of the martial arts. Meaning literally breath or air, ch'i signifies a sort of life force or inner power that flows throughout the body. Skilled martial artists are able to make ch'i flow correctly, and can use their command of their ch'i to enhance their abilities. In some cases, such as the Monkey Slap of Hsing-I, the practitioner's ability to manipulate and or project his ch'i is reflected in a martial arts maneuver in other cases, it is bought as a special ability or power known to masters of that art. Most of the abilities listed in the Special Abilities section of each style's description could be considered ch'i abilities, even if the style does not use that particular term for them.

Appendix H Byosen Scanning Technique

Purpose Byo means sick and sen means line . In essence the intention is that the Reiki healer initially slowly scans the client looking for the source of the diseases emanating from their body auric layer(s). It is an exploration technique. When you sense a Hibiki anywhere on your client. Simply hold your hands over that area. The Hibiki sensation will increase and then decrease as Reiki passes through the blockage (this is deemed as one cycle). Keep your hands over the Hibiki area for at least one cycle, the more the better. Reiki Master and Seichim Manual - Version 1.1 - Copyright 2002-2003, reiki-ebook.com All rights reserved.

Not Letting Go Not Resisting

Through Nian Jing or 'sticking energy' we can then develop Ting Jing or 'listening to energy' which is the sensitivity to detect the opponent's strength, its origin, trajectory, magnitude and component vectors. Once we are able to detect his energy movement and his centre of mass, we can effectively know his intent and control it by affecting the energy flow and centre of mass efficiently.

Appendix K Gyoshiho Healing with the eyes

Purpose Gyoshi means starring and again as Dr. Usui said that one can also send Reiki with their eyes. Your eyes during a typical healing session can also give out Reiki. You simply just look at the area to be healed and feel that the area be cleansed and healed. You should not try hard to focus or glare but just be in a relaxed state. Finally imagine Reiki flowing from your eyes onto the body area being treated. This can be a very nourishing experience for both the healer and the healee. Chi Kung Position

Above, 'the second position merely requires that you lower the arms to about the level of the 'Ian lien (see page 16). Keep the roundness in your arms and allow your palms to turn slightly upward-facing. Then visualize your vital energy flowing down and into your palms, ' he overall appearance should look' rather like you are holding a great round bowl. Use this stance to contemplate the energy flow in movements such as Repulse Monkey (see page 5.3). Ware Hands Like Clouds (see page 58) or. again, the left arm during parts of the Single Whip (see page 30).

Chi Kung Position Three

The third fx sitioii is simitar to the first, only this time the palms are tn rued out. this is a more yang position than the previous two, and your energy is more likely to feel more as if it is projecting outwards from the palms. Use it to visualize the energy flow in any of the pushing movements, such as Separate Hands and Push (see page 29) or Release Arm and Push (see page 41). Note bow the thumbs are almost horizontal, parallel with the ground.

While the Shen Spirit must be internally hoarded

Chi and Shen together with Jing comprised the three interactive treasures of the Taoist alchemists. I've rendered Chi as Vital Energy in the present context, but this is very far from being an adequate explanation of the concept. The character itself represents rice being cooked in an pot and giving off vapour, so there is the concept of alchemical change so beloved by the Taoists. In fact Chi is many different things. There is Chi all around us the air is Chi. The oxygen that we extract from the air is Chi. The oxygen transported by the haemoglobin which is delivered from the lungs to the tissues of the body is Chi. The carbon dioxide and methane gas discharged from various orifices are also examples of Chi. Vital Energy seems the best choice of translation, despite its limitations. The character Shen represents on the left the sky and the various heavenly bodies and on the right two hands extending a rope, so there is the concept of expansion. The combination has man reaching for...

The University Student

Contemporary styles, she feels that there is a difference in the flavor of the two and it lies in the training emphasis. She states that in traditional Pa Kua the emphasis is placed more on developing the fundamental principles of the art and less on the particular form movements. The practitioners of traditional Pa Kua work to maintain a consistent energy flow and never sacrifice proper alignments and body connections. She continued by saying that because of this, the overall flow and feeling of traditional Pa Kua is more balanced and solid.

Small Circle Push Hands and selfdefence

In self-defence or healing, you, the healer, or defender must be in control of the situation. This means being in control of the attacker's or the Therefore, when we begin healing a disease state or defending against physical attack, we must be aware of the highs and lows, where there are troughs and where there are peaks. In just the same way that we would never try to defend against a shot that was in full yang power, but rather wait until it had dissipated in a self defence situation, we also do not try to attack the disease when it is at its full peak wave. In other words, we do not simply go in there and begin the treatment. We wait until the timing is right So you would not try putting Qi into the patient until the time was right. This will happen over the whole spectrum of your healing methods for the whole time that you have the patient on the table. Your methods will come in waves in accordance with the patient's Qi. In this way, you attack the disease when it is the most...

SP 21 Dabao Big Wrapping

Dabao Point

On the mid-axillary line, 6 cun below the axilla, midway between the axilla and the free end of the 11th rib, in the 7th intercostal space. This point does amazing internal damage electrically (Qi wise) and also physically. This point balances the whole body, left and right (especially torso) and inner and outer. A strike here spreads out over the chest causing great imbalance to the Qi system of the whole body. The recipient will fall into a coma if the strike if done hard enough, and will not recover until energy balancing is performed on him. Physically, the liver can be damaged as well as the lungs as this point is also connected to LU 1. Rib breakage will also occur. Not a point to be played around with An excellent point to use with ST 9 causing KO and extreme spleen damage, the lungs contract causing suffocation.

Appendix G Gassho Meditation

Purpose Gassho Meditation means two hands coming together (similar to the usual prayer position of your hands) in front of your chest, so your out breath touches the tips of your fingers. Primarily used to clear ones mind before a healing session. Primarily this is used to teach you a breathing method using the Reiki energy and to focus the mind. When doing this activity the hands are held in the gassho or prayer position in front of the heart. This activity alone helps you to still the mind. This technique is a good all round exercise that re-aligns your mind into a calm collective experience prior to a healing session. The more you practise this technique you body will eventually get acustomed to getting into this deep meditive state, as soon as your practis Gassho (putting your hands in front of your chest etc in a praying style). Hidden Masters Spirit Helpers

The purpose of the exercises in this book is to calm the lower self, the chakras or energy centers of the body that are concerned only with gratification of the physical desires air, water, food, shelter, sex. In so doing, the energy of the body can be raised and, with it, the level of consciousness. When this has been accomplished, we become sensitive to the forces of Nature and can act in accordance with the laws of the universe.

Ki The Spirit of the Wirrior

For centuries Eastern warriors have sought to cultivate an extraordinary form of personal power. It is called ki (pronounced key ) in Japan, chi ( chee ) in China and prana in India. We really have no one word in English that adequately conveys the full meaning of ki. Approximations include energy, spirit, aura, vitality, breath, life force and inner strength. It's simply ki. Like the businessman or anyone else living at the gut level, the warrior doesn't really care very much what something is called, but only if it actually works and, if it does, how to make it work for him. Ki is very closely related to breathing, and that's why it's sometimes translated as breath. The M.I.T. research demonstrated that the breathing exercises used by the samurai in fact thicken the energy field. Everyone has a ki energy field around him, but martial arts practitioners using ki breathing techniques actually have a different kind of field than the average person. Using modern photographic processes,...

Origins of the Circle Walk Practice in Ba Gua Zhang

Josef Mengele Medical Experiments

In summary, each part of the body has specific conditions to meet and maintain during the execution of Eight Diagram Palm, but the coordinated synthesis of all these conditions, when performed in synchrony, allows the practitioner to move in a completely natural manner, breathing at ease and moving relaxed. It is a manner of moving in accordance with the laws of natural physiology that we can cultivate more energy than we expend thereby enhancing one's life force. 4

Teaching Esoteric Strategy at the College Level

I wanted a student who was smart, small, athletic, and exemplified the conservative, statusseeking, upwardly mobile, middle-class young people typical of Hillsdale College. Someone who had never been in a real fight in his life. Enter Randy Reising, ex-high-school football player and gymnast, and gentleman about town. Randy became the final authority as to what techniques were kept or dropped. As he had no experience and was learning everything through new eyes, he became our best critic and most proficient practitioner. We combed through the martial arts literature, paying particular attention to the techniques recommended for women and the elderly. We'd take something like a hip throw and see how many variations of it we could find in different martial arts. Then we would take it all apart and develop variations on the basic theme based on utility, kinesiology, or escalation of pain, damage, and energy flow, saving the nastiest techniques for the...

The Three Abstentions A

Interpromoting Cycle Elements

9) The term Three Phases refers to the three primary energy centers or three dan tian. The upper dan tian is located in the center of the head, behind the point between the eyebrows and under the crown, or bai hui. The middle dan tian is located in the area of the solar plexus, and the lower dan tian is located in the center of the lower abdomen just below the naval. The dan tian should not be thought of as exact points, they are more like areas of energetic activity. Placing the tongue on the palate aids in forming a strong connection between the Governor and Conception Vessels and thus strengthens the mutual interaction between the three dan tian. Internally, the dan tian is the root, the heart is the middle, and the Ni Wan point in the head is the tip (also sometimes referred to as the lower, middle, and upper dan tians). Energetically, the trinity (sometimes referred to as the Daoist Trinity ) consists of the jing (it - essence), qi - life force), and shen ( f - spirit). Jing...

Celestials Palm Xian Ren Zhang

Another name of Method of Hardness and Softness is the exercise with a paper bundle. This skill belongs to YANG category, but it also uses the vital energy QI, training in which belongs to YIN category. This GONG FU is concentrated in a fist. Although it is said to be the hard GONG FU, but you will understand in a process of training that it is not pure hardness. Actually, it is mutually complementary combination of soft and hard GONG FU.

The Yellow Emperors Classic on Internal Medicine embraces the principle life is movement

The silk pulling image can be easily related to the idea of energy flow in the body. Once energy starts moving in the body, smooth, continuous, connected motion will facilitate a continuous movement of the energy throughout the body. If there is a pause, an awkwardness, or a hesitation in the movement, the smooth energy flow will be disturbed. If we compared energy flow in the body to water running through a hose, such a disturbance could be seen as an air bubble getting into the line. In the first segment of this article we talked about the body's use of raw materials in the production of energy. One of those raw materials was air (life force energy). Air is probably the most important energy source the human body has at its disposal, but because the breathing process is automatic, most people don't pay much attention to breathing. From the Chinese perspective, food and drink are the energy of the Earth and air is the energy of Heaven. While it is important to balance the energy...

Circle Walking Variations

Defense Against Low Leg Traps

The Mud Walking Step The mud walking step ( - tang ni bu), also commonly known as the dragon step, the gliding step, or the snake step, is one of the most common Ba Gua stepping techniques. This step is not a method that is used very often in combat, however, it is an excellent training step and thus it is practiced by beginners in many schools. This step trains balance and stability in motion, thrusting or shoveling power in the legs and encourages an increased energy flow to the legs and feet.

An Introduction To Sun Style Ba Gua Swordplay

Phoenix Feather Sword

The essence of the Wu Ji fe) sword is to hold the sword and stand without moving (Wu Ji refers to the state of undifferentiated chaos which precedes the Tai Ji, the separation of the undifferentiated energy into Yin and Yang, positive and negative). The heart (mind) is empty and the Qi (vital energy) is homogeneous and complete. This is the pre-heaven Way. Motion is born of stillness and unity.

The Symbols Hon Sha Ze Sho

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is used to send Reiki. You can send Reiki to anyone and anything. It is used to send Reiki over distance and time (such as when using Reiki to heal a past trauma or sending Reiki to a point in the future when you or someone might need it). It is also drawn before sending a distant attunement.

The Psychic Element In Mental Disturbance

Tlie mind is essentially tlie oigan of adaptation to tlie environment and it is wlien that adaptation fails that neurotic and hysterical troubles begin. Each living creature is tlie channel for a current of life-force wliich proceeds from tlie Logos, tlie Creator of tliis universe Tliis current is divided into three main channels represented to us as tlie three gieat natural instincts. Self-preservation. Reproduction and tlie Social Instinct. These are tlie mainsprings of our lives. The pressure of Life itself is behind them and if they are thwarted beyond their power of compensation (considerable as that is). they are like streams whose channels are blocked and wliich in consequence overflow and make a morass of tlie adjacent land.

Transferring and Issuing Qi

Body is a very low voltage, something that we need very sensitive instruments even to pick up. Things like heart measuring devices actually measure electrical activity in the heart it is the same for the brain etc. So when we are issuing Qi, we are issuing minute amounts of electricity (Qi) and we need to be either touching the person's skin or so very close to it so that this small electrical current is able to work. Anyone who knows anything about electricity knows that if you place another voltage or current near or on top of a current or voltage, you will affect that electricity in some way. Moreover, this is what we do when we issue and transfer Qi. We are able to either issue Qi that is sympathetic to the other person's Qi thus helping to heal that person of some disease state, or we are able to affect that person's Qi adversely as in the case of the martial arts and self defence. It has been said that the greatest healing that one person can give to another is simply to touch...

Using The Mind Instead Of Force

Among the people who practise taijiquan, it is quite common to hear this comment That is entirely using the mind, not force . In practising taijiquan, the whole body is relaxed, and there is not an iota of stiff or clumsy strength in the veins or joints to hinder the movement of the body. People may ask How can one increase his strength without exercising force According to taditional Chinese medicine, there is in the human body a system of pathways called jingluo (or meridian) which link the viscera with different parts of the body, making the human body an integrated whole. If the jingluo is not impeded, then the vital energy will circulate in the body unobstructed. But if the jingluo is filled with stiff strength, the vital energy will not be able to circulate and consequently the body cannot move with ease. One should therefore use the mind instead of force, so that vital energy will follow in the wake of the mind or conciousness and circulate all over the body. Through persistant...

Exchanges with Interesting People

The Midwest Association of Humanistic Psychologists holds a convention in Indianapolis every year. I try to go if it's convenient and I have the money, or if the presenters look interesting. There are usually many healers and bodyworkers performing their art. I like to attend their seminars. It's a weakness of mine. Maybe I should have been a massage therapist. In 1990 I went to two day-long certification granting seminars. The first was called The Healing Process Exploring Body-mind Integration. The teachers were two white witches into Reiki (Japanese energy work). One was Meg Blanchet-Cole, who obviously had a background in yoga, and the other was Barbara Allen, an R.N. with considerable chiropractic experience. We all sat down in a circle on our pillows. I had cleverly arranged to sit next to Meg, who is stunning and exudes a strong white aura. I noticed that she was blocking energy between her shoulder blades and reached over to hit the shiatsu points that would release it. She...

Swimming and Diving Skill Qiu Shui Shu

I myself know the swimming technique not too well, but I heard a lot of interesting things about it from my tutor and friends. I recorded all that and present it for your attention. In my childhood I was taught to swim by YANG, the director of the dock that was situated outside the city gates XI ZHI MENG. Once master YANG who swam very well learnt from monk CI LENG eight swimming techniques pushing-off , carrying , trampling , swimming , diving , sinking , 'sitting , and jumping . Briefly speaking, the main points are as follows a part of your body is above water, you push off with your feet move sidewise forward as if you carry water on one of your shoulders strain the vital energy QI and trample water move your arms and legs and the golden cicada glides on water faster than wind dive Preparation for a combat in water environment is based on the rule of four hieroglyphs QI ( air , or breath in this context), YUE ( jump ), YAN ( eyes ), JIAN ( arrow ). QI involves a breath hold for a...

The Godan or Masters Test for a Ninja

The godan test for a martial artist is the equivalent of the oral defense of a Doctoral candidate. It is the cumulation of six to twenty years of study. It's pass fail and is over in seconds. As you can imagine, the tension is palpable. Picture, if you will, a small room packed with all the godan and above from the Western world plus the Japanese instructors and Masaaki Hatsumi. The energy from these individuals is potent. Now add in fifteen candidates for the degree whose anxiety certainly kicks up the level. Mcst of the men and women in this room were are very powerful subtle energy generators. Trying to align yourself with a particular individual, even when it's the grandmaster, is not easy. You have to trust in him to really want to kill you, and in your ability to feel the sakki (killing intent). If the intent is not real, your protecting spirit will not emerge. In the godan test there is an exchange of subtle energy from the grandmaster to the initiate. The stronger spirit wins....

Screwing Up Higher Sexual Practice

Social interaction between the genders always relates to politics and wealth as well as biology. One may notice, if their biogenetic luck of the draw wasn't too good and their energy level not too high to begin with, that sex can be pretty draining. Hence all the warnings about preserving your seed and girding up your loins before battle. Both Chia and Stephen Chang (see bibliography) present a simple solution to this problem through manipulation of the perineum. There are Taoist myths of vampire queens who drained the life force of thousands of youths in order to attain All the jokes about fallen gurus have in the root the simple equation that love and sex are similar and someone who is highly evolved is also highly sexed. It is how the sexual energy is applied that creates the definition healing, prophecy, charisma, power-seeking, creativity, and breaking bones all flow from the same source. Higher sex requires sublimating the orgasm as well as exchanging energy with the lover. If...

Ying jow eagle claw kung Fu

Eagle Claw Kung Ying Jow Pai The Book

Though it is often translated as an energy flow, Ki literally means breath and everything that breathes, from animals and plants to the world itself (as felt on the wind) is a part of Ki. As such, Ki is essential to all aspects of the practitioner's life. Martial arts and yoga teach the student to channel Ki through meditation and deep breathing exercises. Feng Shui arranges a living space to allow Ki to flow freely through everything in the room (including those who live there).

ST 30 Qichong Pouring QI

This is the Sea Of Nourishment Point along with ST 36. It is also a point of the Chong Mai, or life force meridian . Circulates yuan Qi to the stomach and hence to earth . A strike here will cause the body s ability to fight off disease to be lower. And an overall lessening of Qi to the internal organs will gradually grow. The free flow of Qi is hindered by this strike. The opposite occurs when ST 30 and 36 are treated in a healing way. Immediately, there is a knock out from this strike and death can occur when a very heavy strike is taken. Even after treatment, the damage continues to grow if not treated also by an acupuncturist.

The Goals of Qi Gong Practice

Power qi gong methods should only be practiced after the student has had a great deal of experience with much gentler, energy balancing, qi gong methods. The body must be internally connected and internally balanced before power training can be initiated. Training for power without slowly building up through a systematic series of exercises would be analogous to running a marathon without ever having practiced any type of jogging or running exercise prior to the 26 mile run. The body can be severely damaged. Even qi gong which is practiced correctly can lead to shen disturbance if the practitioner does not participate in a qi gong system which is complete or does not practice under the guidance of a qualified teacher. Every level of qi gong should be viewed as a systematic process which contains a beginning, middle, and end. Each level of practice, or method of practice, has purpose and direction. The practitioner begins with the purpose in mind, executes certain exercises or...

Chi Kung Position Five

Tai Chi Self Defense

In the fifth position, the hands are more flattened with the fingers together, and are held with the little-Jinger side of the hands directed downwards. Imagine your energy running from the shoulders along the little-finger side of the arms and into the fingertips - though do make sure there is still space between your elhou s and your sides. Use this stance to visualize the energy flow in movements such as Play Guitar (see page 33). Fist Under Elbow see page 51) or the early stages of Rollback and Press (see page 28).

Can I pass all the attunements onto someone in one session

Some Reiki teachers state that the different initiations Reiki I, II and Master level should be given over a period of time, I have never felt this the case. You have received all your Initiations in one session. Awareness of attunement is not required, permission is though. The teacher allows your aura to receive the Reiki frequencies at whatever level he she is attuning you to. As regards Initiation, different Reiki handbooks (see the appendices) give a variety of views. If the Client is present, it is suggested to separate each initiation by one week so that he she can look forward to each sitting. However, as stated, you can initiate in one session. Importantly, don't rush any initiation. Also, the experience can be enhanced by asking the initiate client - once seated and with their eyes closed, to place their feet on a small warm sand sack.

Balancing Gong

In the body, all the organs are connected to the neck, spine and shoulders. The neck, spine and shoulders support the entire body and help to transfer the energy to the different organs. So if your neck has a problem, this will block the energy flow. Practising Balancing Gong can help your neck, shoulders and spine become stronger and more flexible.

Sun Lu Tang standing in the Tai Ji Posture

After a long time, the curved form of the front of the chest will become natural. In the Turning Walk, the body does not need to be quick. The Will , Life Force , and Strength combine together with the hands, feet, shoulders, hips, waist, and elbows, inside and outside, to create the One Qi. The whole of the body cannot have one place that is separate or confused. If there is one place that is separate or confused, then the energy of the whole body cannot be harmonized.

Differences between hard styles and soft styles

Intrinsic literally means. Belonging to or arising from the true or fundamental nature of a thing . Or, essential , inherent . So this does not give a good explanation as to what Qi is, but everyone sprouts this phrase when asked what Qi is 'Essential', well yes, without it we die, so it is definitely 'essential'. To me, the one word that explains Qi, is 'life force'. We need Qi to live, to protect us from disease, to move our body, to think, to make love, to make children, to protect ourselves physically. Every movement we make has to use Qi, it's what causes or muscles to move, directed by the brain, but the brain even, must rely upon Qi to operate. So, in effect, even the so-called 'hard styles' of martial art must use Qi, otherwise the practitioners would not be able to move But the difference is, that the internal systems make better use of the body, moving is such a way as to promote the flow of and to build up Qi. If for instance, we were to...

Alias The Mental Emotional Symbol

Sei He Ki tends to focus on those parts of the energy bodies relating to emotions and mental states. It is very good for healing past traumas (used with Cho Ku Rei and Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen) and works well with positive affirmations. I use it in almost every healing session, I believe that most disease has an emotional base that must be addressed before a complete healing can occur. The symbol clears emotional blockages and aligns the upper chakras. Sei He Ki restores emotional balance and harmony and is also useful against bad vibrations or negative energies. A good symbol for inner calmness and the release of blockages

Appendix J Kokiho Healing with the breath

Purpose Koki-hoi is usually a second degree technique, It was reported from Dr. Usui that if one feels heat in your chest, mouth or nose when you give Reiki, then you can give Reiki with your breath. Breathe in though your nose then breathe out softly, onto the area where you want to give Reiki to. This technique is useful especially when you want to give Reiki to where you cannot touch, as in a burned area of your client. With Koki-ho you can also work on the physical body, aura or distant healing. Reiki Master and Seichim Manual - Version 1.1 - Copyright 2002-2003, reiki-ebook.com All rights reserved.

The Concept Of Ki

In the Oriental description of the world, KI flows through and pulses in everything. KI might be called universal energy as distinguished from personal energy. Most important, KI is a force in your body, a force that you can direct to control your will. In the Orient during this same time period, there developed a quite different therapeutic technique called acupuncture. The Chinese were using acupuncture as long ago as 5,000 years, but there is proof positive that it was extensively used from the 10th century on. According to acupuncture theory, energy flows through the body along fourteen meridians along these meridians which are hundreds of points that correspond to different organs and body parts. Each organ can be either stimulated or sedated by inserting a steel needle into precise points on its meridian. Once inserted, the needle is gently twirled to reverse the energy flow and eliminate the cause of the disease, which is, in effect, nothing more than an energy imbalance....

Internal Jing

Internal Jing is where Jing is derived from the three internal elements of essence (jing), vital energy (qi), and spirit (shen). This kind of jing is effected through the strengthening of the essence to provide the generation of qi which nourishes both the musculature, bones, organs and the mind which is the seat of the spirit.

Other Powers

The GM who wants to create additional chi powers will get a lot of use out of GURPS Powers. Body Control and Chi Projection (as Bioenergy ) are both there, and the Body Control power modifier appears as a generic -10 modifier - Chi - for use with many powers. For instance, Chi can replace the modifiers given for the Antipsi, ESP, Psychic Healing, and Psychokinesis powers on pp. B255-257, converting them from psi powers to chi powers.

In order for the vital energy to flow unimpeded through the entire body, you need to keep your spine and limbs correctly aligned and your joints open and loose. The following advice will help you to maintain this proper alignment during your tai chi practice. It is worth

Kjss Of The Lotus

That a single unarmed strike can temporarily cripple an opponent by disrupting his own energy flow. Rumor has it that this kata was developed by agents of the Kolat to facilitate the kidnapping and replacement of troublesome individuals. Effect This kata requires you to use only unarmed attacks the use of a weapon disrupts the energy flow the kata depends on and instantly cancels the remainder of the duration. You must land a successful unarmed attack on an unarmored portion of your opponent's body (a completely armored opponent would be immune). An opponent who is struck by this attack must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + your Wisdom modifier) or be stunned for one round. If a stunned opponent fails his save against this kata, he is knocked unconscious for one hour. If you take more than ten damage (subdual or actual damage) during the duration of this kata, the kata ends. Effect This kata requires you to use only unarmed attacks the use of a weapon disrupts the energy flow the kata...

Advanced level

Be sure to keep both feet flat on the floor throughout. This is essential to help draw the energy of the earth in through your feet as you do this exercise. Many of the vital energy meridians in your body stretch to your feet or have their origins there and it is essential to keep the contact from the soles of your feet and the ends of your toes right up through your back, neck, palms, and fingers.

Move From The Centre

Our vital energy centre is situated in the abdomen - it is a point just below the navel called the Tan Tien. In tai chi. all of the turns, steps and rotations should be directed from here - like a searchlight guiding the movements of the limbs. We also try to direct our breathing down into that area even though the air itself' obviously goes to the lungs, we still imagine the essence' of the breath sinking to the Tan Tien, a constant focus of attention. Try to retain this quality of selj'-awareness throughout your tai chi practice.

Yang Shouhou

If one counts every posture in the classical Yang Taijiquan form or kata, we see that there are around 300. However, many of these postures are repeated and it is generally accepted that the so-called 'long Yang form' (as opposed to the newer short forms that I do not even recognise) has around 108 postures. But if we only take the very basic postures that have names then that number comes down to only around 37. Those repeated postures are those that the founders of 'H'ao ch'uan' or Taijiquan knew to be very important either to the healing benefits or to the martial applications. Inventors of later, new forms of Yang Taiji saw these important postures as being redundant, so they simply changed a great form invented by people of genius and left out these postures, rendering the form almost useless

Principle

This exercise is intended to penetrate the cosmic energy and mix it with the energy inside of one's body. A great amount of energy is expelled and taken in. In a very short time, the practitioner can expel the pathogenic and black Qi from his body and take in a great deal of energy from the cosmos so that his body can be purified, reaching the state of a Pure-White Body quickly. In addition, while doing the hand movements, this exercise facilitates the opening of the top of the head and unblocks the passages under the feet.

Holding Vessels

This refers to the grasping, holding and pushing of the qi meridians and accupoints with the purpose of disrupting and controlling the qi flow in the body. This makes the body impaired in terms of function and movement rendering the opponent vulnerable. Where Grasping Muscles attacks the physical structure of the body and Sectioning Fascia attacks the circulatory system, Holding Vessels attacks the internal vital energy flow which is distinct from the accupoints and the striking of them.

The Classics

Quite obviously when this classic was written, the master had the martial application in mind. By the time that Yang Ching-Fu wrote his classics, we start to see a softening of the classics. Yang Ching-Fu was the nephew of Yang Pan-Hou. By the time that later masters after Yang Ching-Fu wrote their classics we see a leaning towards the great healing benefits of t'ai chi. The later master did

Da Mos Yi Gin Ching

Stick Shaolin Temple

The practitioner should find a place with clean air and stand facing the east with the back relaxed and naturally straight, the feet shoulder width apart and parallel. Facing the east takes advantage of the earth's rotation and the energy flow from the sun. Keeping the legs apart will relax the legs and thighs during the practice. Keep the mouth closed and touch the palate with the tip of the tongue without strain. In Chinese meditation this touch is call Da Chiao or Building the Bridge because it connects the Yin and Yang circulation (a detailed explanation of this will follow in Chapter 3, Nei Dan). The practitioner will find that saliva accumulates in the mouth. This should be swallowed to keep the throat from getting dry from the concentration on breathing. Practice each form 50 times. A repetition consists of inhaling while relaxing the muscle or limb and exhaling while imagining that you are tightening the muscle and imagining energy flowing to that area. The muscles may be...
